Radon Program Initiatives

Stories L-1

The Davis County Health Department and the Davis School District have been working collaboratively on several radon program initiatives.  The health department has provided radon testing at over half the elementary schools and the school district has been proactive in implementing procedures that reduce radon exposures at schools with elevated levels.  Additionally, the school district has also implemented a policy to install radon resistant construction at all new schools.

Clinton City, in the northern part of Davis County, has identified radon as a health risk.  The city fire department purchased a continuous radon monitor and has developed a program that offers free radon testing for residents to help identify homes with elevated radon.
